The Zonal Research Center (ZRC)

By virtue of Memorandum Order Number 8, S. 2000 and Resolution Number R-97-2000, S. 2000 of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), nine (9) Zonal Research Centers (ZRCs) were established throughout the country. These are under CHED’s Office of Policy, Planning, Research and Information - Research Department (OPPRI-RD).

The CHED ZRC's Mandate

• Constantly update and maintain a database of researchers and researches of the HEIs in the designated research zone.
• Formulate and implement a Zonal Research Program (ZRP) considering development needs of the zone requiring research inputs.
• Participate in the identification of qualified HEIs to conduct commissioned research about higher education, based on CHED priorities.
• Process, evaluate and recommend research proposals for CHED funding, monitor on going CHED-funded researches under the ZRP to ensure that the procedures, resources and timetable are observed and promote and facilitate linkaging among HEIs for research purposes.

	CHED REPUBLICA AWARDS This CHED Outstanding Research and Publication Awards are offered annually to recognize and reward outstanding research outputs that contribute to the discovery, adaptation of new knowledge and innovative technology that lead to sustainable development or generation of concepts which propel significant advances in the CHED identified priority disciplines.
